At TRANSCAN-3 we are working together to keep the fight against cancer to the high priority status it deserves.

At TRANSCAN-3 we are working together to keep the fight against cancer to the high priority status it deserves.

Building on a well-established cooperation, TRANSCAN-3 brings together 31 partners from 20 countries with the common vision of aligning cancer research and innovation programs, ensuring that combined financial resources are used in the most effective and efficient way, best practices are shared, knowledge is created, disseminated and used in the best way for the benefit of all key stakeholders.

Consortium partners are a mix of ministries, funding agencies (both national and regional) and foundations and charities. A number of the current consortium partners have been involved in the previous phases of the project (TRANSCAN and TRANSCAN-2).

An added value of the TRANSCAN-3 network is the participation of some important charities specifically focused on cancer: ARC (France); NCS (Norway); and, FCAECC (Spain). Furthermore, TRANSCAN-3 has enlarged its geographical coverage with the participation of new partners (CIHR-Canada, NKFIH-Hungary, HRB-Ireland and UEFISCDI-Romania) who have extensive knowledge and expertise to share with the consortium as they partake in other health EU-funded initiatives.

It is important to mention that TRANSCAN-3 has three regional agencies on board, which were also partners in TRANSCAN-2. One is FICYT from Asturias (Spain); the other two are from Italy: FRRB from Lombardy Region and TuscReg from Tuscany Region.

The complementary expertise and resources that each of the funding partners bring to the consortium will allow TRANSCAN-3 to achieve one of its ambitious goals: funding cancer research that has the potential to bring us the greatest health and social benefits.
